The idea of planting a tree in Szekzalma goes back many years, and it is a traditional programme for families, companies and events. The Hotel has planted many trees on the farm, which our guests are happy to return to. The planting of a tree is the start of a new life in Szépalma, so it is of the utmost importance to us that the trees planted live a balanced, long and safe life, just like the animals that live here. From 2024, our Foundation will be involved in the tree planting programme, committed to nature conservation as well as animals, and will be able to help select plants with the help of several renowned experts who will be able to help them thrive in the long term in Szépalma, and in their ideal environment.
Our collaborating partner is Gyula Kovács, orchardist, the creator of the Fairy Gardens, with whose help we are planning to create a Historical Garden in Szépalma, whose fruit trees will present the famous trees of our country.
We are also assisted by Dr. Ákos Pottyondy, former head of the Pannonhalma Abbey Herb Garden, an orchardist and herbalist.
For each tree that is planted, the Apple of Beauty Foundation would like to find a donor who will support the planting of the tree with a one-off amount agreed in advance. Of course, each donor will be given the opportunity to plant the tree themselves and decide what to put next to the species of tree on its name plate. Tree planting will take place at pre-arranged times, according to the needs of the plants.
