Cycling tours
Mountain bikes, unrivaled forest dirt roads and asphalted forest roads without traffic await those who want to enjoy the fresh air of the Bakony on two wheels.
We can support the tours by providing pre-programmed gps routes, cycling maps, picnic packs and lots of good advice. Your own bicycles can be safely stored at the Szépalma Hotel, and we can provide transport by car from the location you request, and technical assistance if necessary. You’ll have to look elsewhere for the most exciting theatre performances, but if you’re looking for hiking and trekking, you won’t find a better place than Szépalma!
Bowling
The surroundings are beautiful, the lanes are good and with a bit of luck (or a little more knowledge) you could even win a weekend of pampering at the bowling alleys in Szépalma.
In the period up to 31 December 2024, the next Szépalma Bowling Championships will also be announced.
The prizes for the competition are as follows:
1st place: voucher for 2 persons and 2 nights
2nd place: voucher for 2 persons and 1 night
3rd prize: 1 T-shirt from Szépalma, which will be used to win another trip to Szépalma in our T-shirt competition.

Forest walks
Participants can learn about the flora and fauna of the beech and oak forests by wandering in the forests of the High Bakony, during a guided tour of one and a half hours.
The nature around the apple of Sépalma shows a different face in every season:
In spring, a colorful carpet of bulbous plants covers the beech ground, while in summer, the cool shade of green foliage provides a pleasant feeling of warmth against the sun’s rays.
While in autumn, after a prolonged rainfall along the forest paths, the yellowish-purple avens are full of mushrooms, for the less frosty it is a real treat to follow the tracks of the wild in the freshly fallen snow in winter.
In cooperation with the Bakony Museum of Natural History, our hotel offers guided forest tours on weekends, during which you can learn about the use of the Bakony forests’ trees over many decades (lime burning, potash cooking, etc.), the local applications of forest and game management, nature conservation and environmental protection, the possibilities of using the healing wild flowers of the forests and fields, or even the poisonous plants during a pleasant walk.
Via Ferrata in Csesznek
Hungary’s first Via Ferrata (steel-plated rock-climbing path) was opened in neighboring Csesznek.
At the foot of the neighboring Cseszneki Castle, the first via ferrata (steel-rod rock-climbing route) in Hungary has been completed and opened, where complete beginners and advanced rock climbers can hone their skills.
Depending on the difficulty of the trails, safety equipment, helmet, helmet, harnesses and carabiners are required, which can be rented on the spot for 2500,-Ft. The difficulty of the three routes is “C”, “D” and “E”. (For via ferrata routes, those marked “A” are the easiest to complete, while those marked “F” are recommended only for professional climbers.) It is recommended for both men and women in good physical condition. It is also suitable for people who are interested in trying their climbing skills for the first time in their lives. The “D” and “E” routes are designed for experienced climbers.
In the summer of 2016, we also took the participants of our giraffe camp to Csesznek, where they could try out or even hone their climbing skills.
